I am a therapist with over eight years of professional experience supporting children, adolescents, and families in both the Netherlands and Kenya. My work is grounded in the belief that every young person deserves to feel understood, supported, and empowered to navigate life's challenges with confidence.
After completing my degree in Social Work at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, I dedicated my career to working alongside children, young people, and their families through periods of growth, transition, and difficulty. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings, supporting individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and emotional needs.
Since relocating to Nairobi in 2021, I have worked extensively with international families, expatriates, NGO professionals, United Nations staff, and their children. This experience has given me valuable insight into the unique opportunities and challenges that come with living internationally. While life abroad can be enriching and rewarding, it can also involve frequent transitions, cultural adjustments, identity questions, separation from support networks, and the pressures of balancing multiple worlds.
Through my work, I have developed a deep understanding of the emotional and social complexities that accompany international and multicultural family life. Whether a child is struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, friendships, school-related concerns, adjustment difficulties, or the impact of significant life changes, I aim to provide a space where they can feel safe, accepted, and genuinely heard.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual and family. I believe that meaningful change begins with a trusting therapeutic relationship, and I strive to create a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where children, young people, and families can explore their experiences, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and develop the tools they need to thrive.
No two journeys look the same, but this is the path we usually walk together. From the first message to looking back on the progress made.
